Tendi, a fully internationally certified UIAGM guide, has led all over the world and is one of CTSS’s most trusted guides whether on Mt Everest or elsewhere in the world. He has 15 Everest summits from both the North and South sides to his resume, not to mention many other much more technical and remote peaks throughout Nepal.

Tendi guides around the world in places like Argentina, Bolivia and Antarctica and is scheduled to finish the Seven Summits this year.

He currently works as a private guide for CTSS on Mt Everest, Lhotse, Vinson, Carstensz, Cho Oyu and Manaslu

Beyond guiding for CTSS, Tendi also acts as Sirdar, or lead climbing Sherpa, for CTSS and over sees the logistics of each Himalayan expedition.

Beyond his work as a Mountain Guide, Tendi is also the co-owner of Himali gear, a high-end adventure gear manufacturer based in Denver, Colorado. Tendi is also the namesake and Founder of the “Tendi Sherpa Foundation” which provides opportunities to Sherpa in and around his home community.

He is also a devoted father and husband. When not living and guiding in Nepal, he can often be found traveling in the US, Switzerland, the UK and around the world.

In Tendi’s Own Words…

My name is Pasang Tendi Sherpa. I was born in 1983 in Sankhuwasabha district, in a very remote mountain village in the eastern part of Nepal called Khembalung.

I started my career as a trekking porter at the age of 13 years old, and my first summit of Everest was in 2004 when I was only 21 years old. To date, I have summited Everest 17 times and many other mountains in Nepal, South America, North America, Antarctica, Europe, New Zealand, China, and Africa.

Besides my climbing profession, I am deeply involved with my own charitable organization, Tendi Sherpa Foundation, and Nepalko Sathi Association to support the poor community in the remote villages of Nepal. So far, we have supported more than 60 children with the scholarships, built two suspension bridges, and a monastery in the Khembalung region.

After many years of mountaineering training, I finally passed the high-level mountain guiding course in 2011, which is affiliated with the International Federation of Mountain Guides Association (IFMGA).

I have been travelling around the world for public conferences over the past 11 years, and among them, I have had the opportunity to give a talk at the headquarters of Facebook, Apple, and Google in LA, USA, and I was invited as the guest of honor for the Mountain Film Festival in Switzerland and France. During my traveling around I got chance to be interviewed featured in many popular news medias such as BBC London, CNN, Times Radio UK, RTS television Swiss, TV5 Monde France, National Geographic Magazine and many others.

I am a Co-Founder of the Himali brand, which is a brand for mountaineering apparel based in Boulder, USA. Through this brand, we were able to help the Tengboche Monastery, the Himalayan Rescue Association clinic at Everest Base Camp, and the Icefall doctors of Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee-SPCC.
