Summits and Skills Training as the Everest Season Builds

Congratulations are rolling in from across the mountain today.

First up, our Lobuche East climber, Travis G. summited today under perfect conditions. Lobuche was Travis’ main objective in the Khumbu, which means he is now on his way to Everest Base Camp for a few nights before returning down the Khumbu Valley. For those who are beginning and intermediate climbers, Lobuche East makes an excellent progress peak, and it’s a great way to get experience climbing in the high Himalayas before taking on a larger peak like Manaslu, Lhotse, and Everest.

Also celebrating summits today, our 3 Peaks team summited Pokalde (19,049 ft / 5,806 m). A massive congratulations goes out to climbers Nick C and Chad J on their successful summit. Tonight they are resting easy in Chukkung, before moving toward Island Peak, their final objective.

Our 1:1 Everest climbers are all at Everest Base Camp and have begun skills training on the edge of the Khumbu Glacier, getting hands-on the ice ahead of their Icefall rotations. The Icefall Doctors are currently working on the route, with all climbers staged at Base Camp in the meantime.

3 Peaks Climbers on Pokalde

The Masters EBC team and our Camp 3 Everest climbers have reached Lobuche Base Camp. Tomorrow, they head up to Lobuche High Camp for an acclimatization hike before pushing on to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp proper. Dr. Brenton’s 50+ team continues to move strongly through the upper Khumbu.

Also at Lobuche Base Camp, our Rugged Luxury private team is gearing up for their climb on Awi Peak (17,257 ft / 5,260 m). This peak is a hidden gem, away from the crowds, with panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu. Get ready for one of the best views in Khumbu!

Further down the Khubmu, our EBC trekking team has begun the journey home, making it down to Pheriche today and heading toward Namche Bazaar tomorrow.

And finally, our Rugged Luxury Team 3 is on their way home. Safe onward travels to the whole team.
