We heard from the team this morning and they are doing great at Advanced Base Camp. They are all settled in and enjoying head chef Kumar Gurung’s amazing cooking and some hot showers! Yesterday they had a Puja ceremony, a traditional Tibetan Bhuddhist ritual, to bless the climb and ask for safe passage on the mountain. From ABC they have unobstructed views of both the Nangpa La Pass and Cho Oyu itself.

The team’s plan is to do some training today to refresh their technical skills to be 100% ready for the upper mountain. Tomorrow they will climb half way to Camp 1 to acclimatize and check out the route before heading all the way to Camp 1 the following day.

All is well!

Cheers,
CTSS Team
