CTSS Sherpa Team Establishes Everest Camp 2

The Sherpa team is, as they always are, the heroes of the season. They have already done 60+ loads up to Camp 2, with 5x cook staff and 6x Sherpa now working full-time at Camp 2, establishing camp and preparing for the arrival of our CTSS team.

Our climbers are in various stages of finishing up their Mera Peak rotation, having slept at Summit Camp, approximately 20 minutes from the top, for 2-4 nights. The Western Guided team will drop back down tomorrow, with 1:1 Private climbers coming back to Khare the following day.

This Mera Peak expedition equates to a full rotation on Everest.

As they make their way back to Everest Base Camp, we will also do a quick drop back to lower altitudes at our dedicated and private mountaineering camp at Lobuche Base Camp, so they can rest and recover in a controlled environment to reduce their risk of contamination of any illnesses in the Khumbu Valley, but get the recovery benefits of some thicker air.

They are in a wonderful position with 2x rotations under their belts, while mitigating the risk present in the icefall.
