Busy day today on the trail and in the air around Aconcagua. Our private speed ascender flew into Base Camp this morning in a narrow but great weather window ahead of a windy change that was forecast for the next few days so that was ideal timing. Whisked to Plaza de Mulas at 14,300ft. Tomorrow is a rest/acclimatization day, before the ascent begins.

Meanwhile our wider team are about to sit down for a catered dinner in their private dining tent. They had great weather for our 5mile hike up the Horcones valley to Confluencia at 11,200ft. Wind did as expected and picked up this afternoon but as the evening is coming on, it’s calm and clear skies.

Tomorrow the team will take an acclimatization hike to Plaza Francia at nearly 14,000ft. Highlight of the hike is a breathtaking view of Aconcagua’s South face.
